Mick Karn found fame in the 1970s as a member of art-pop group Japan. One of the best bass players of his generation he has worked with Kate Bush, Gary Numan, Shirley Bassey, Joan Armatrading as well as being a member of Dali’s Car with Peter Murphy of the gothic post-punk group, Bauhaus. Bestial Cluster (1992), possibly Karn’s best solo effort, finds him exploring heavier, rock-oriented material. The record’s fiery edge was significantly influenced by producer David Torn, one of Karn’s closest friends.
